About the Milk-Bone Brand, www.milkbone-canada.com
Milk-Bones are a type of dog biscuits, in the shape of a bone and they are basically a “cookie for dogs!”
The Brand was developed by a Bakery over hundred years ago and not surprisingly the main ingredient is Wheat Flour. It also contains Meat and Bone Meal, Wheat Bran, Milk, Beef Fat, some artificial preservatives, salt, added minerals, and vitamins.
Furthermore, since dogs are carnivores, I don’t know that a wheat and gluten-based biscuit would be the best type of treat for them, especially since the Milk bones also contain, yes, milk of course, which could be causing diarrhea and stomach upset in dogs allergic to milk products. Also, the wheat gluten itself could cause problems.
Best to watch your dog closely when introducing Milk-Bones and possibly ask your vet how much and if to feed them this treat at all!
In conclusion, You may also want to check out companies, that offer healthier and more nutritious rewards for your pooch. Some examples of Companies that offer products with higher quality ingredients products include Vitalife dog treats
They may cost a little bit more, but you are getting grain-free products, without cheap fillers or gluten and their first ingredient is actually REAL meat!
So watch your local Pet Value or Specialty Pet stores for flyers to stock up when a sale becomes available!
